Power System Design
Utility Interconnection and Medium Voltage (MV) Distribution
- Engineer substation layouts and transformer sizing for LNG process loads and balance of plant infrastructure.
- Evaluate grid stability and arc flash coordination with utility provided short circuit models.
Hazardous Area Classification Support
- Provide input for Class I, Div 1/2 or Zone 1/2 classification boundaries near liquefaction trains and vapor handling systems.
- Design conduit systems, terminations, and seals in compliance with hazardous location standards.
Low Voltage (LV) Power and Motor Control Center (MCC) Layouts
- Specify motor control centers, drives, and feeders for compressors, vaporizers, and loading arms.
- Support load group classification for emergency and essential loads.
Control and Automation
SCADA and Remote Monitoring
- Integrate LNG site electrical equipment into plant wide SCADA or DCS for status, alarms, and control interface.
- Support RTU configuration and fiber/copper networking with distributed I/O.
Equipment Protection and Relay Settings
- Develop protection schemes for power transformers, switchgear, and motors.
- Configure and validate relay settings and coordination logic to reduce downtime from fault events.
Project Execution and Support
Commissioning and Startup
- Assist with FAT/SAT support for switchgear, UPS, and relay packages.
- Perform system checkout and interface verification with construction teams and OEM vendors.
Permit Documentation and Specifications
- Develop design drawings, load studies, and construction packages for AHJ approval.
- Provide construction support, vendor interface, and redline/as built documentation.
