Power Systems Support for Safe, Efficient Nuclear Operations
Mangan Power Group Nuclear Engineering Capabilities
Planning and Design
Evaluate electrical drawings, protection schemes, and backup systems for NRC compliance and critical load prioritization.
Engineer robust LV and MV power systems to support plant instrumentation, control rooms, emergency lighting, and turbine island auxiliaries.
Develop site layout designs that accommodate seismic reinforcement, shielding, and zone-specific access protocols.
Implementation
Design low-impedance grounding systems and shielded cable routing to prevent EMI in control and instrumentation areas.
Integrate fire suppression, HVAC, and access control systems in accordance with NEI 08-09 and NRC guidance.
Collaborate with plant teams to ensure functional isolation of safety and non-safety systems, as per NRC regulations.
Core Systems
Install and configure protective relays for transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers. Ensure redundancy for Class 1E systems and design to IEEE 603, 741, and 384 standards.
Support generator and UPS design, integration of safety-related batteries and chargers, and automatic transfer schemes for blackout resilience.
• SCADA and Monitoring Integration: Assist with SCADA system configuration and data acquisition for status, alarms, and performance metrics relevant to plant operations and reporting.
Validation and Oversight
Provide relay testing, cable insulation checks, breaker timing tests, and loop verification for plant modifications and upgrades.
Prepare technical specifications for LV/MV electrical equipment and assist in supplier assessments.
Deliver on-site oversight during installation and outage activities to verify milestones and maintain compliance.
Assist with technical documentation and responses for NRC inspections and licensing reviews.
